His mother Malavika Ray as well as his aunts Mahasweta Ray and Manaswini Ray were actress, films were always the topic of discussion at home.From which Budhaditya got inspiration to become an actor.

Buddhaditya Mohanty works in Mumbai as well as in Odhisa. In the Year 2002 first he tried his luck in Mumbai and worked in a number of successful serials including Meher, Stree Teri Kahani, Kumkum, and Kya hua tera wada.
