ABOUT INDIRA GANDHI PARK:
Indira Gandhi Park, dedicated to India’s late Prime Minister was erected at the site where Mrs. Indira Gandhi delivered her final speech on 30th October, 1984, before she was assassinated. Built on what was the city’s former parade ground, the park covers an area of 10.60 acres that includes, well manicured grass plots, plenty of tress, shrubbery, flower gardens and fountains. The park is frequented by morning walkers, joggers and residents taking a leisurely stroll with the highlight of the park being a sculpted statue of the late Mrs. Indira Gandhi.
On her memory, I.G Park was built in this place and was dedicated to public. The park has a statue of Smt. Indira Gandhi designed and sculptured by Russian sculptor Mr. Dimitry Ryebachev and Alexander Ryebachev. It is a good spot to spend leisure time. People generally visit the park at evening time. Due to its comfortable location it has attracted lots of people and it is counted as one of the most popular parks of Bhubaneswar.
