ABOUT PAUSHA ABHISHEKA BESHA OR PUSYA ABHISHEKA BESHA
Pausha Abhisheka Besha or Pusya Abhisheka Besha of the Triad Deities in the temple complex is believed to have been done on the full moon day of month Pausa (Dec-Jan) it is believed that on this day the deities were installed in SreeMandir .
To mark the occasion after ‘Abhisekha’ the deities are decorated in Royal dressing wearing gold ornaments, garlands with sweet fragrance flower as Lord Jagannath looks like an emperor.
During the time of Bhoga Puja on Ratnavedi Bhitarcha Mahapatra standing beside Lord holding the cloth umbrella like Laxman and BhandoraMekapa holding the root of umbrella as Hanuman and three ‘Palia Puja Panda’ complete Bhoga Puja with sixteen upachar. This decoration known as Pusya Abhisekha Besha.
