After changing the entire telecom space, Reliance Jio is gearing up to enter the DTH world. Though nothing concrete has yet been made clear about the Reliance Jio DTH services, some reports around it have already made fans go gaga over it.
Well, this is not the first time that rumours about Jio DTH service are surfacing on the web. But, this time along with rumours comes a few detailed images of Jio set-top-box, revealing the complete design.
As per reports customers can expect a Welcome Offer scheme on the Reliance Jio DTH services. Reports also add that the Jio DTH services will be free for 90 days. The Jio DTH set top box is reportedly ready and the company is all set to launch it in April.
Reports say that Jio DTH services can be availed using an Android setup box or Apple setup box to stream any TV channel on your TV with plans starting as low as Rs 180 per month.
The Jio DTH setup box will be powered through Jio broadband connection which will give a streaming speed up to 1 Gbps. Jio’s set top box images have already leaked, amidst reports that it will have more than 300 TV channels and more than 50 HD channels.
The leaked renders of the Jio set-top-box show a USB port at both front and rear side. This will enable customers to connect a pen drive and may be watch movies and videos stored in that pen drive directly from the set-top-box. This may not even require an internet connection. Such functionality already comes in most of the TVs nowadays, especially the smart TVs. But the older TVs don’t have this feature.
