The International Yoga Day Was Observed Across Odisha

The International Yoga Day was observed across Odisha on Wednesday, with union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram participating in programmes at Bhubaneswar and Sundargarh respectively.

“Exercise has its limitation to physical fitness. Whereas yoga takes it much further to mental and spiritual wellness,” tweeted Pradhan.

A state-level programme was also organised at Jaydev Bhawan here. It was inaugurated by health minister Pratap Jena.

The day was also observed in some educational institutions and industrial units across the state. But state-run schools across Odisha skipped the event.

Sand artists Sudarsan Pattnaik and Manas Sahoo have created two sand sculptures at two locations on the Puri beach to make people realize yoga’s benefits.
